Sold as: (4 pack) Overview: Black variation of the popular cherry shrimp. Peaceful addition for tanks with appropriately sized inhabitants. Most shrimp are imported from overseas and often don't fare well due to the stress of transport. Luckily we were able to find a local hobbyist who breeds them and is willing to supply us. Setup Considerations: With Neocaridina shrimp tank size is less important than stable parameters; therefore, they are more likely to thrive in a mature, well seasoned tank. As benthic grazers, they benefit from plentiful surface areas in the form of hardscape and/or plants. Specific Care Requirements: Due to their small size and peaceful nature, tankmates must be carefully chosen. Many aquarists are successful at keeping them with small, peaceful fish, but babies and freshly molted adults are always at risk of predation. Diet: Neocaridina shrimp continuously graze on biofilm, algae, and organic matter. They readily feed on algae wafers, zucchini, flakes, pellets, and most other sinking aquarium fare.
