They are not common in the hobby which is a shame because they are beautiful, peaceful, hardy, and spunky. In my experience, they are outgoing and interact with their owners begging for food. I've always thought they looked like the lovechild of a Licorice Gourami and a Betta.\n\u003cstrong\u003eSetup Considerations:\u003c\/strong\u003e \nThey are not very particular about how their aquarium is setup. I've had great success keeping these in a bare aquarium with a sponge filter and a tight fitting lid. I've also kept them in heavily planted tanks. As long as the tank does not have strong water movement, these will probably be happy.\n\nThese fish will jump, so having a secure lid is important.\n\u003cstrong\u003eDiet:\u003c\/strong\u003e Carnivore\nThe Spike Tail Paradise Fish is easy to feed.
