Celestial Pearl Danio - CPD
Celestial Pearl Danio - CPD
Natural Range: Salween River Drainage and ponds near Hooping, Myanmar Source: Aquarium Bred and Raised Estimated size at shipping: 0.33-0.75" Adult Size: around 0.5-1" Sold as: Unsexed Overview: This fish needs no introduction. A favorite nano fish of many aquarists due to its pleasing pattern, bright colors, and peaceful disposition. Their color makes them look like tiny Brook Trout. The species has a limited natural range. Luckily, fish farms around the world are breeding and raising them in large numbers so keeping them does not negatively impact natural populations. These are commonly referred to as "CPDs" in the trade. We have found that if they are kept in large groups, they are quite bold little fish. If kept in smaller numbers, they can be shy and retiring, at least until they learn that their owner is the source of food. For more information about this fish, check out our video here: https://youtu.be/FuCTZLpRU3Y?si=xSAfjDWH7yGE1w_V Setup Considerations: These undemanding nano fish that can be kept in anything from a bare-bones tank with a sponge filter to a finely aquascaped aquarium with high-tech filtration. The can be housed in small tanks or very large ones. They do appreciate places of refuge where they can hide if they feel threatened. Diet: Omnivore Healthy CPDs are ready feeders. Ours relish a rotation of the Aquarium Coop line of Easy pellet foods, Xtreme Monster Pellets, algae wafers, and baby brine shrimp. Once fully grown, we occasionally give them a treat of small frozen bloodworms.
